Farming Good Vibes
We are Rob and Grace- a NJ family who bought an old horse farm in 2022 with the goal of building a nature retreat.
At Rooted Acres, we are passionate about sharing our love for the outdoors, building community & rooting to one’s true nature. We work to share that passion through our glamping accommodations, retreats, & community events.
Here are some of the other ways we work towards this goal:
Growing Roots w/ regenerative practices: Rather than focusing on the production of one crop, our farm’s focus is to grow good soil, knowledge, and community. We have a 5000 square foot "discovery garden" where we practice & experiment with regenerative principles such as companion planting, organic fertilization & natural pest management. Our livestock -chickens & bunnies- not only provide educational & entertainment opportunities for guests but also help us build healthy soil.
While we have been gardening for 8 plus years- farming and regenerative practices are new to us and we invite all to learn with us in this outdoor classroom.
Permaculture Design: We use permaculture design principals to continually add flowers, trees & shrubs that support local wildlife and pollinators. By demonstrating the beauty, interest and privacy that can be achieved with permaculture design, we hope to inspire guests to bring this practice home with them.
